FRIDAY 18TH NOVEMBER. LET’S GO DOTTY AND WEAR SOMETHING SPOTTY!!!! £1 DONATION FOR THE BBC CHILDREN IN NEED APPEAL
We hope you have all enjoyed your summer, it seems to have gone very quickly. There have been a few developments over the summer so here goes..
We have split our Squirrel Rooms into two rooms called Grey Squirrels and Red Squirrels to provide continuity for parents and children. Your child’s key worker will be in the same room as your child every day and your child with be with his/her friends. If you have any queries about which room your child is in or your child’s key worker please do not hesitate to speak to any member of staff either in the room or in the office. Sacha Brown will be Room Leader of Red Squirrels and Angela Cooper in Grey Squirrels.
Angela Cooper who is to manage our Grey Squirrel Room. Angela has a BA Honours in Early Childhood Studies and is a qualified Early Years Professional. Angela has had a lot of experience of working in a busy day nursery. Lisa McCarthy who has her NVQ3 in childcare. Lisa has a young family of her own and has worked in a local pre-school for the last 8 years. Lisa will be working in the Hedghogs Room in our Under 2’s area. Emma Proctor who has her level 3 CACHE diploma in childcare and education. Emma has worked in a nursery for the last 5 years and progressed to Deputy Manager. Emma is now Room Leader of our Bear Room. Gemma Howells who has recently obtained her CACHE level 3 in childcare and education. Gemma was nominated for the Heinemann and Nursery World Childcare Student of the year and was shortlisted to the top ten nationally. Gemma is joining our Bunnies Room. Joanne Wilson who has her CACHE level 3 diploma, Joanne has been working for us throughout the summer and works in our Grey Squirrel Room. Jessica Talbot who has her CACHE level 3 diploma. Jessica has been working in our Under 2’s area throughout the summer and is going to be working in the Hedgehog Room. Laura Holland who has recently completed her NVQ2 and is due to start her NVQ3. Laura has been working in a local day nursery and comes highly recommended to us. Laura will be working in our Red Squirrel room. Harriot Carter works part-time at another local nursery and is studying for a degree in dance and performing arts. Harriot is working every morning taking the children to school and also Thursdays in Grey Squirrels. Charlotte Blease is working in Out of Hours Club doing the After School and is also working in Bunnies. Elysia Crompton has been working for us over the summer in Owls and is studying for her NVQ at Cheadle and Marple College on day release. Amy Fitzpatrick, Emily Young and Rachel Millward are all due to start with us and are all studying at Cheadle and Marple on a day release basis to obtain their NVQ status.
Throughout the summer we have been undergoing a refurbishment programme throughout the nursery which included making our Owl Room into one room and creating a new art area outside the Owl Room. We have plans to make a new outdoor Astroturf area outside the Squirrel Rooms so our age 2-3 year olds have their own designated outdoor area.
When parking outside the nursery to drop off/pick up your child if at all possible please could parents park in the designated parking bays rather than directly outside the nursery doors. Parking outside the nursery is a potential safety risk as children cannot be seen clearly as the view is obstructed by the cars parked and also causes difficulty for parents trying to reverse out of spaces.
Please note the new prices come into effect in September. We are also updating our terms and conditions which will be with you shortly.
Please could any parents who haven’t returned the updated contact forms to the office please do so at your earliest convenience. A new one can be requested from the office if you have mislaid/not received one.
For any parents new the nursery who are not aware some of the staff will babysit in the evenings if required to. This is a private arrangement between yourselves and the staff member but we do have a book of staff who are willing to babysit.
We will keep you updated of any developments that are happening at the nursery. If any parent ever wishes to visit the nursery, have a chat with any of the staff/management about any aspect of your child please do not hesitate to call in. We have an “Open Door” policy and you are welcome to come and see us if you feel you have any reason to.
