Our nursery has undergone a full refurbishment and has a warm, welcoming feel.  We have a wonderful range of facilities and children have lots of space in which to play.  Our nursery is situated in a lovely semi rural location with lots of opportunities to visit local parks and open countryside.  We have ample parking to enable you to drop your child off conveniently and safely.

Security

We take your child’s security seriously at Hollins Wood and have key code systems for the doors which only staff know the code to. Our door is manned at all times to ensure controlled access and to provide a welcoming smile whilst providing that extra level of security to give you peace of mind. We have CCTV systems to monitor activity outside the nursery. Any contractors entering the nursery have to sign in and relinquish their mobile telephones. Mobile telephones are banned from any rooms in the nursery.

Our Rooms

There are seven different rooms for children to ensure that children and in an environment totally suited to their age.  All of our rooms work very closely with each other and our team know all the children in the nursery.

We have our Bear and Bunny rooms which look after children from 3 months old up to approximately 18 months.  We have Hedgehogs who range from 18 months up to 2 years and Squirrels who range in age from 2 years to 3 years. Also 3 pre-school rooms for our 3 to 5 year old pre-school children for children from 3 years up to 5 years.  We have 2 qualified teachers in Pre-School together with a team of qualified and caring support staff.

The Kitchen

We have a large kitchen and dining room where the children can enjoy home made food freshly cooked on the premises. We use locally sourced organic fruit and vegetables.

Our Vegetable Garden

We are developing a vegetable garden which the children are helping to plant and tend to the vegetables.

Outdoor play areas

There are separate outdoor play areas for children of different ages together with a wide range of toys and activities to allow children of all abilities to develop good muscle control, whole body co-ordination, gross motor development and just as importantly have fun – Fresh air and physical activity are a big part of the day, even in bad weather – rain doesn’t need to be a pain! We have spare wellies, waterproofs and umbrellas so the children can still enjoy outdoors.

The Baby Gym

We have a baby gym which the children use at different times of the day for music and movement, obstacle courses, dance and to generally enjoy themselves.

We have separate changing areas in each room, a separate dining room for eating and a quiet room for sleep time.   Fresh drinking water is available at all times from our filtered water machines.

The children go outdoors every day either in our fleet of double buggies, in our minibuses or on foot.  All children and staff wear hi visibility vests on outings.
